Samsung Galaxy Note 3.0 Release Date, Price, Spec Update: Four Different Models To Be Made Available Upon Release, Options For AMOLED And LCD Display

Rumors on the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 3 suggest that it could be available in up to four different models once it’s released to the public.

The International Business Times reported that the alleged four Samsung Galaxy Note 3 models would confirm rumors that have suggested the device would be released in variants. Some of them will feature an LCD display or an AMOLED display.

Based on ETNews reports, the first model will be a limited edition Galaxy Note 3 and will feature a chassis made of high-quality materials, a 13-megapixel main camera and an unbreakable AMOLED display. It would be the type of “high-quality” materials used that remains unknown. But earlier reports have said that Samsung may introduced its first device with a metal exterior with the Galaxy Note 3.

Other reports have noted that Samsung is collaborating with the SGL Group in developing a carbon fiber material, in which the Korean manufacturers may outfit the exterior of future devices.

The second Samsung Galaxy Note 3 model will reportedly feature a plastic chassis, a 13-megapixel main camera and a standard AMOLED display. Many have said that the rumors of Samsung switching to metal exteriors for coming devices have followed several of the South Korean tech giant’s flagships during pre-release.

Earlier rumors have suggested that the Samsung Galaxy S4 would be the first Samsung device to feature an aluminum exterior, the goal of which is to directly compete with the HTC One and its aluminum unibody. The Galaxy S4, however, was released with a polycarbonate outer body like all of the Galaxy S series devices before it.

The third Samsung Galaxy Note 3 model will reportedly feature a plastic chassis, a 13-megapixel main camera and a standard LCD display according to the International Business Times. When rumors of a Galaxy Note 3 with various display variants first surfaced, many compared it to how several popular Samsung devices sell with different processor variants. The Samsung Galaxy S3 series devices have often featured a Samsung processor or a Qualcomm processor. Looking at its latest models, the manufacturer outfitted its Galaxy S4 with either a Samsung Exynos Octa 5 chipset or a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 chipset.

Samsung has admitted that it provides different processor variants for its devices in order to satisfy the demand, with CEO J.K. Shin saying that the processor types within the device didn’t matter because the two chipsets were selected for their complimentary user experiences.

Rumors on the display suggest that the Samsung Galaxy brand has grown very popular that consumers won’t be concerned about the type of display Samsung uses in its devices. Samsung reportedly has the majority of its AMOLED displays wrapped up in production of the Samsung Galaxy S4 as well as the company’s OLED display televisions, which could be the motivation for the tech giant to use LCD displays. The model would likely be similar to the standard AMOLED model with the one obvious exception.

The fourth and final Samsung Galaxy Note 3 model expected to be release will feature a plastic chassis, an 8-megapixel camera and a standard LCD display. At first glance, the 8-megapixel camera appears to hints at a low-cost variant or perhaps even a mini variant, similar to how the Samsung Galaxy S4 features a 13-megapixel camera while the Samsung Galaxy S4 mini features an 8-megapixel camera.

According to the Business Times, the idea of a mini-variant on a device intended to be extra large is far-fetched. There would likely be no reason to truncate the sensor on the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 other than to reduce its price.
