American Horror Story Season 3 Coven: Will The Male Cast Return For All-Female Witch Hunt?

It's been interesting watching "American Horror Story" season 3, "Coven," develop as more actors are added. Rather, actresses.

With names like Sarah Paulson, Patti Lupone, Kathy Bates, Taissa Farmiga, Lily Rabe, Angela Bassett, Francis Conroy, and Gabourey Sidibe, will any of the male cast member from previous seasons return?

So far, the only male actor confirmed to be returning is Evan Peters, though his role is still unannounced. Given that Taissa Farmiga is returning after being absent from "Asylum," it's probable they will share a lot of screentime as younger characters.

But what about Dylan McDermott, who's been with "American Horror Story" since the inception?

Oddly, he has not been confirmed, but does seem to know some inside scoop, specifically that "Coven" will deal with the witches of Salem.

"All the witches of Salem...there's plenty of them!" said McDermott during an interview with E! Online.

Reportedly, McDermott is working on a pilot, but making his return uncertain. But, the actor wishes to "juggle both." Here's to hoping!

Zachary Quinto, who has been with "American Horror Story" for two seasons, also seems too busy to return for "Coven."

"The nature of [American Horror Story] is such that I'm sure [executive producer] Ryan [Murphy] could call and say, 'Could you fly down on your day off and do one episode?' And if he does, I would always be open to that," affirmed the "Star Trek" star according to Perez Hilton.

"But we haven't had any conversations. So as of now I'm not planning to be a part of it."

And as for Denis O'Hare, who played Larry Harvey in season one, his occasional "True Blood" and "The Good Wife" commitments may keep his schedule unpredictable, but fans of the show would love to see him return for season 3.

So, despite a few recent guest star casting news for male characters, "American Horror Story: Coven" seems to be entirely female-centric, with little room but witch bait for the guys.

But maybe there'll be a few surprises before season 3's October premiere on FX.
