Minecraft Xbox 360 Update: Release Date For End Of July? 4J Studios Announces TU12 Bug-Fixing And Coding Updates

4J Studios provided an update on Monday to the status of Title Update 12 (TU12) for Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition that points to a release during the end of July, Examiner reports.

"We're bug-fixing TU12 at the moment. Lots more bugs to fix," 4J Studios announced.

"We'll let you know when it goes to Microsoft Cert test. We'll post a change list for TU12 once we put it into Microsoft Certification testing."

Once the update enters Microsoft Certification testing, it will take at least one week, possibly two, before it is released for everyone to download via Xbox LIVE, examiner also reports.

Last week, 4J Studios announced that game coding changes made to address software architectural differences between Microsoft and PC might have produced a delayed release date, but not it seems otherwise.

"We're still working on TU12- there are lots of software architecture changes needed for this update. Thanks for your continued patience," 4J Studios posted on Twitter last week.

Xbox 360 editions of Minecraft have sold over 7 million copies around the world, according to a tweet posted by 4J Studios earlier this month, bringing hope to Xbox One enthusiasts looking for a copy on the next-generation console.

Microsoft has been criticized by many for its Xbox One specs, price and policies but the news that Minecraft surpassed the 7-million mark is great news for those hoping that particular game will attract more people to the console.

The game, although independently developed, has garnered five awards from the 2011 Game Developers Conference and has also received the Best Downloadable Game Award.
