Soul icon and 73-years-old Tina Turner has finally married her boyfriend Erwin Bach after 27 years together, according to the New York Daily News.

The musical legend wed German producer Erwin Bach "a few days ago" in a civil ceremony on Lake Zurich in northern Switzerland, confirmed official Hannes Friess to the AFP. The 16-year age difference apparently doesn't matter to Turner or Bach. 

The couple, who met at a record label party in London in 1985, will continue their celebration with a Buddhist ceremony at their home in Kusnacht, witnessed by 120 A-list guests including David Bowie, Eros Ramazzoti, Sade and Oprah.

At 73, Turner will reportedly don a gown designed by Giorgio Armani, while the couple's guests have been asked to dress in all white for the occasion, reported the Daily News.

In a 1996 interview with 60 Minutes, Bach made clear his relationship with Turner was based on Tina's true self, not the Tina Turner mythology.

"I'm not in love with the rock act," he said of the "Proud Mary" singer. "I'm in love with the human being."

As for Tina, she has a very simple view of their 16-year age difference. Turner once said, when challenged why she was dating a much younger man: "How old does a man have to get to be a man?"

The pair has been living in Switzerland together for 18 years. In April, Turner handed in her U.S. passport and became a 73-year-old Swiss citizen and subsequently marry Bach.

"I am very happy in Switzerland and I feel at home here," she told the German newspaper Blick. "I could not imagine a better place to live."

This is the second marriage for Turner, who was previously married to Ike Turner (who admittedly physically abused her) from 1962 to 1978. She has two biological children, Craig and Ronald, and raised Ike's two sons from a previous relationship, as well.
