Girls’ Generation Invades America

K-Pop group Girls' Generation will be invading America starting January 30 to promote their album The Boys through local media and TV shows.

The group will be performing on two shows, CBS' The Late Show with David Letterman and ABC's Live! With Kelly on January 31 and February 1. This will mark as the first Korean group to ever perform on American television, so this has become such a big deal for this group. This is especially true for The Late Show's music director Sheryl Zelikson who told enews that this is huge for Girls' Generation to perform on the show. "We decided to invite Girls' Generation to our show because the group was very interesting and was different from other groups."

The Girls' Generation will also be holding interviews with AP and Extra TV, two of America's biggest media outlets.

Even though the all girls group has never promoted their album in the U.S, it did reach No. 2 on the Billboard's World Albums chart on January 17. With this much hype on the group's appearance on American TV, this will certainly help promote the group and its music by garnering new fans. Girls' Generation will be returning to Korea after wrapping up their tour in the States.
