Legend Of Korra Season 2 To Feature Flashbacks With First Avatar, Starring Steven Yuen: Will Book 2 Reveal More Of The Past?

As "The Legend of Korra" staff enjoys a very epic weekend at San Diego Comic-Con, it has been confirmed that season 2 will feature the very first Avatar, Wan, voiced by "The Walking Dead" star Steven Yuen.

Hypable reveals that Wan will show his journey to becoming the very Avatar as he tries to preserve balance between the mortal world and the Spirit World. Given that season 2 is called Book 2: Spirits, we can assume Wan will reveal a lot about the Avatar mythology.

"Steve's vocal quality and acting can range from an innocent, naïve young man, to a trickster anti-hero, and all the way to a full-fledged action hero," says "Korra" co-creator Bryan Konietzko on Yeun.

"And in each take, he made Wan really human and relatable, despite the mythic setting of his tale."

In addition to flashbacks, "The Legend of Korra" season 2 will also see more departures in terms visual style.

"To depict the world in Wan's time, the creative team drew inspiration from ancient and traditional East Asian ink wash paintings and woodblock prints for the environments, color palettes, and stylizations of the elements," says a Nickelodeon representative on Book 2.

"The results expand the vision of the Avatar world, but also stay very true to the building blocks of its visual influence."

And without a doubt, more news will hit today as "The Legend of Korra" Comic-Con panel begins at 11:15 am today.
