Park Si Hoo Is Cleared Of All Charges Stemming From Anti-Defamation Lawsuit Filed By The CEO Of His Former Talent Agency

Park Si Hoo's legal troubles appear to be over.

The South Korean actor reported over the weekend that he was acquitted of all charges stemming from an anti-defamation lawsuit filed by the CEO of his former talent agency, Mr. Hwang.

"Park Si Hoo′s legal battle with his former agency has ended as of today," read a post Saturday on the actor's official fan website Si Hoo Rang, labeled "Emergency Announcement."

Park was accused of raping a woman back in February, according to the publication eNEWS.

Although eventually cleared of all charges, the actor sued his accuser and Hwang as being involved in an elaborate plan to blackmail him.

Park eventually dropped the lawsuit against Hwang to move on with his life, according to a representative for the actor.

"[Park Si Hoo] had dropped the case against Mr. Hwang to wrap up all the troubles he had [experienced]," the rep said.

Yet Hwang had countersued Park for defamation of character, a lawsuit that has now been resolved.

"Mr. Hwang had sued Park Si Hoo for making false accusations, but the prosecution decided to clear all charges," the post on the actor's fansite read.

"With this, the incident has completely come to an end."

Last week Hwang's legal representation reportedly asked Corea Entertainment Management Association (CEMA) for help in settling a defamation suit, a request that appears to have worked.

"We heard that Mr. Hwang proposed a settlement through CEMA recently," a representative for Park Si Hoo said last week, after news of the mediation was reported.

"We believe we are blameless. We will follow whatever proceedings CEMA demands of us."

The incident that led to the rape charges happened when Park and the alleged victim, who is an aspiring actress according to the Korea Herald, went back to his place at 2 a.m.

She then passed out. At which point, she claimed, Park raped her.

The case undeniably caused some career trouble for the successful actor, in an entertainment industry where what actors do off-screen seems to be increasingly more important to fans than their performances on it.

After rising to fame on South Korean television shows like "Iljimae" and "The Princess' Man," Park went on to star in the 2012 film "Confession of Murder."

The actor has vehemently denied the rape accusation from the beginning, releasing a strong denial a few days after the incident.

"In the process of [meeting the woman] we were mutually attracted to each other and shared our feelings, but I assure you I did not have a forced sexual encounter with her," Park said.
