Legend Of Korra Book 2 Release Delay Caused By Animation Studios? Why Was Season 2 Animated By Studio Mir And Perrot Co?

Despite "The Legend of Korra" Book 2 release date confirmation, questions still linger over why season 2 took so long to be released, with the primary speculation being the animation studios involved with the series.

As pointed out by Avatar Online, Studio Mir has been working with "The Legend of Korra" team since Book One, but various rumors continued to circulate that a Japanese animation company had been added to work on season 2 along with Mir.

Since then, it has been confirmed that Japanese animation studio Pierrot Co. has been working on Book 2 along with Studio Mir.

During the recent San Diego Comic-Con "Korra" panel, co-creator Bryan Konietzko confirmed that while Perriot Co. animated the Book 2 premiere, "Rebel Spirit," Studio Mir had animated the two-part episodes featuring the first Avatar Wan.

When asked by a "Legend of Korra" fan how much of season 2 the company had helped animate, Studio Mir promptly responded, "We worked on half of Book 2."

Which begs the question, will Book 3 and Book 4 by animated by both Studio Mir and Perriot Co., and is the delay caused by "The Legend of Korra" being handled by two separate animation studios?

Without question, the trailer and screencaps of "The Legend of Korra" season 2 is beautiful and absolutely a step up from Book 1 in terms of sophistication, so Studio Mir and Perriot Co. definitely have the craftsmanship to make Book 2 great.

But, after season 2 is over, will "The Legend of Korra" go through another long hiatus?
