Review: J-Slow Takes It To The New Orleans Streets With An Arnold Schwarzenegger-Sounding Hook In 'Dirty (30)' [VIDEO]

The opening hook of "Dirty (30)," South Korean rapper J-Slow's homage to New Orleans hip hop is a slowed down voice repeating the words "I'm dirty, dirty, dirty."

Yet the (presumably Korean) accent of J-Slow, or whoever had their voice slowed down for the track, bears a noticeable resemblance to an icon of a very different area of international media: Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Although this may seem like a ridiculous detail to focus on, and one that was most likely unintentional for the artist, for anyone who makes the connection, hearing the voice of Arnold Schwarzenegger say he's dirty (or at least a slowed down voice that sounds like him) takes the song way beyond a South Korean's take on hip hop's Dirty South.

If you just go with it, and let your imagination convince you that it is Arnold Schwarzenegger dropping the hook in "Dirty (30)," the song is borderline brilliant, at least if you know a bit of history about the body builder-turned-actor-turned-California governor.

Schwarzenegger, who celebrated his 66th birthday on Tuesday, released his memoir "Total Recall" last year, where he admitted to fathering a child with his family's housekeeper while wife Maria Shriver was pregnant with the couple's first child.

Additionally, six women told the Los Angeles Times that Schwarzenegger had attempted to grope them.

Dirty indeed.

But beyond being a pretty hilarious Arnold joke, "Dirty (30)" is still a noteworthy jam.

The beat is a deep, head-bouncing groove. And although it may lean hard on the sound of New Orleans hip-hop artists Mystikal and Juvenile, the music in "Dirty (30)" is an effective facsimile of the infectious rhythms of the region's rap.

What really makes the track stand out is the rhyming ability of J-Slow.

He varies his rhythmic delivery constantly, refusing to settle on one rhythmic pattern and to hammer it into the ground, like so many rappers do.

J-Slow is light on his feet, weaving and wobbling around the beat, changing his speed, changing his delivery.

He seems determined to build up the emotional impact of his song through varying his style.

It is a creatively bold move in a global rap game filled with artists determined, for the most part, to play it safe.

Now how about getting the real Arnold Schwarzenegger to collaborate on the next track?
