Nayeon became a member of Five Dolls last year in March and eventually became the leader of the group. She is currently a student at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago: SAIC.
During an interview, Nayeon stated, "It was always my dream to become a singer since I was young but my parents opposed. I went to Canada when I was in elementary school and went to the U.S. for college. My major is Communication Design. I came to Korea last year for a little bit and ended up being a trainee for my entertainment company. As much as my parents opposed, I need to work just as hard. I really want to work hard and make them proud."
Seunghee became a member of Five Dolls after winning an award at the Miss Choon-Hyang Pageant in 2012. She stated, "I was already a trainee since I wanted to become a singer. I decided to compete in the competition because I thought winning an award at the pageant might help."
Yeonkyung is a unique case since she continued her activities as a member of The Seeya while she was performing as a member of Five Dolls as well. Yeonkyung revealed, "It was around the time T-Ara N4 members were filming their music video for 'Countryside Diary'. There is a scene where all the people in the entertainment company get in the scene and dance together in their music video. I think that was when the president of our company saw something in me. At first I wasn't sure since it was so sudden but when I began to practice, it was so fun. I had so much fun preparing."
Hyoyoung explained, "Whenever a new song comes out all the people in our entertainment company get together and go out to eat together to discuss it. It is very natural for members to be switched around in our company. Even though the members changed, we were able to focus and prepare."
