Sherlock Season 3 Episode 3 Filming Confirms New Villain For 'His Last Vow': Benedict Cumberbatch Causes Massive Location Mayhem!

As "Sherlock" season 3 begins filming for episode 3, titled "His Last Vow," Benedict Cumberbatch caused much mayhem filming a scene with new villain, Charles Augustus Magnussen, confirming him to be primary antagonist of the season finale.

"Sherlock" producer Sue Vertue first broke the news on her Twitter page, along with a picture of Magnussen with an unsettling stare.

After completing filming for "The Empty Hearse" and "The Sign of Three," the first two episodes of "Sherlock" season 3, Benedict Cumberbatch and actor Lars Mikkelsen caused much chatter yesterday while filming in Cardiff.

As seen in the set photos captured by Daily Mail, Mikkelsen is all dressed up to portray someone who, in the original Sherlock Holmes story, is referred to as "the king of the blackmailers."

Is Sherlock filming a scene wherein he is blackmailed by Magnussen?

Certainly, fans should be excited for season 3 episode 3, as Cumberbatch himself seems to be extra thrilled by the script.

"I just got the script [for episode 3] and it's another early birthday present, because it is amazing," says Cumberbatch according to Hypable.

"I don't want to hype it too much because we haven't made it yet but what a script! Steven Moffat is brilliant."

As of now, filming for "Sherlock" season 3 episode 3 will run until early September, so expect a lot more set photos to arrive soon!
