Serena Williams has made headlines for her relationship with coach and rumored boyfriend Patrick Mouratoglou, but her father, Richard Williams, might not be too happy with the relationship.

Richard Williams boycotted attending the Wimbledon 2013 tournament, where Serena Williams had an early dismissal, because he isn't happy she's dating Patrick Mouratoglou - the most likely cause of his discontent lies in the French coach's marital status, AOL Entertainment reports.

Patrick Mouratoglou is in a divorce case with ex-wife Clarisse Mouratoglou and is still dating Serena Williams.

Although Richard Williams never mentioned being discontent with racial differences in his daughter's relationship, past interviews reveal Serena Williams might not have always been into dating white men.

'I'm very selfish and set in my ways. There are some great guys out there, wonderful people. I only date black guys. I don't mind white guys, I just prefer black guys," Serena Williams said during an interview with filmmakers Maiken Baird and Michelle Major in 2011.

The two filmmakers were making a documentary about Serena and Venus Williams that released last month.

But to the surprise of many tennis fans around the world, Serena Williams began dating her white boyfriend Patrick Mouratoglou a year after the interview.
