As McKayla Maroney Vaults Back To Competition, USA Gymnastics Celebrates Her Olympic Vault With YouTube Video

Now that McKayla Maroney is officially back to competition form, the official USA Gymnastics YouTube channel has uploaded a funny video remembering her iconic Olympic vault and the reaction from one particular panelist.

"My name is Cheryl Hamilton and I was D2 on vaulting at the [2012] Olympics," says Hamilton during a recent interview during the 2013 Secret US Classic.

"McKayla did her vault, which I had seen many, many times. When she was in the air, I said to myself, 'Oh my God!' And that's when they caught me...my mouth opened!"

What Hamilton is referring to, of course, is the hilarious, and now historical, image of Mckayla Maroney finishing her near-perfect Amanar vault, and the reaction from the Hamilton as well as gymnastics watchers all around the world.

"I didn't even really notice until somebody circled her face," says McKayla Maroney to the USA Gymnastics correspondent. "I was hilarious. I like died laughing."

"I saw [Hamilton] later at a camp, and she was just like, 'Oh my God, look what you did to me!'"

After roughly a year away from competition following the Olympic moment, McKayla Maroney recently came back to gymnastics competition at the 2013 Secret USA Classic.

After recovering from a fractured tibia and subsequent surgery, Maroney competed in floor and vault, displaying her iconic Amanar vault with flare despite stepping out-of-bounds.

On floor, McKayla Maroney showcased a new double layout tumbling pass and a brand new routine with the same confidence that we know and all. McKayla should definitely be impressed with the results here!
