One Direction ‘This Is Us’ Movie Screenings Require Bouncers And Paramedics To Cope With Fans And Hysterical Directioners

The One Direction movie "This Is Us" preview screening this weekend caused a stampede of hysterical fans in Los Angeles, and the police were called. Now, theaters showing the "This Is Us" movie will have bouncers and paramedics on hand to deal with Directioners and fans.

According to The Mirror, theaters showing "This Is Us" hired bouncers to cope with stampedes of hysterical fans. Leading movie theater chains also will have paramedics on standby in case the teenage Directioners, so-called fans of One Direction, faint or become sick with over-excitement, the website reports.

This weekend, the police were called to a preview screening of the film after a stampede of Directioners caused a security scare. Fans had lined up before 4am for the free 10am screening, and the staff were unable to stop hundreds from flooding into the theater when the doors opened, The Mirror reports.

"They charged and went straight past the ticket takers screaming, 'Let us in! Let us in!'" a mother, Mum Lizette Van Patten, said.

"I've been to lots of premieres and seen people go crazy over Johnny Depp and Tom Cruise, but nothing like this. One Direction are like the Beatles of this generation," she added.

Police officers were forced to evict dozens of girls from the Grove Pacific Theaters in Los Angeles, The Mirror writes.

According to the website, a worker at the theater confirmed they will be hiring extra security when "This Is Us" is released later this month.

The staffer added: "They're talking about paramedics too, because we had some girls who were shaking and crying so much they were hyperventilating.

"The management reckon this will roll out across the nation."

"This Is Us" will premiere in the UK on August 29.
