The American tennis star spent the day training with her father and mentioned that he got her "back on track."
"What a great day. I love spending time with my dad. We talk. We laugh. We just have fun. Besides him being the best coach in the world he is also my best friend. Today he was on the court with me and I tell you I believe there is no one in tennis as smart and fun and cool as my dad," Serena Williams wrote on her website.
"He knows my game like he knows the back of his hand. He knows how to get me back on track. And that's exactly what he did today. I look forward for tomorrow being on the court again with the worlds greatest coach and dad. And after he promised to take me for ice cream."
Richard Williams boycotted attending the Wimbledon 2013 tournament, where Serena Williams had an early dismissal, because he isn't happy she's dating Patrick Mouratoglou - the most likely cause of his discontent lies in the French coach's marital status, AOL Entertainment reports.
Patrick Mouratoglou is in a divorce case with ex-wife Clarisse Mouratoglou and is still dating Serena Williams.
