Kate Upton’s pictures in Sports Illustrated magazine have become instant classics. Kate Upton says her pictures in Sports Illustrated made her feel terrible about herself. The religious 21-year-old model told Elle magazine that photographers treat models like toys and Kate Upton says she’s not the only model who feels that way.

Kate Upton told the fashion magazine “People deal with models like they are children. They think they can pull one over on you. It’s actually funny.”

Kate Upton, who’s cat daddy dance was so hot it got banned from YouTube, has appeared on countless magazine covers, but feels photographers have preconceived notions about models and can be very manipulative. Kat Upton told Elle, “I’m not a toy, I’m a human. I’m not here to be used. I am a grown woman, and you need to figure your s--- out. I’m always like, I’m about to pull something on you, and you’re so focused on thinking I’m dumb you’re not even going to know!"

In the interview, Kate Upton revealed that her iconic Sports Illustrated shoot wasn’t as much fun for her as it was for the photographers. She said, “After my first Sports Illustrated cover, I felt terrible about myself for a solid month. Every single guy I met was either married or about to be married, and I felt like I was their bachelor present or something.”

Kate Upton is a religious person, she recently got inked with a cross tattoo on her finger to perennially show her devotion to God. She explained, "I was at a photo shoot and I was wearing a cross necklace that my mom bought me, and somebody made a joke like, 'Why are you wearing a cross? Like you would be religious.' And then they took [my necklace] away. I was really affected by that. The whole thing made me realize that I do want [a cross] with me, at all times."

Kate Upton’s boyfriend situation is also covered in the magazine. Rumors have been spreading that Kate Upton has been dating "Dancing With the Stars" cast member Maksim Chmerkovskiy. But Upton says, "I really have never had a serious relationship in the industry. I’m just having fun. Obviously I have a very busy schedule at this time in my life, and I don’t put relationships as a priority.”

Upton is one model who insists there is more to her than being a model than being a “dumb blonde.”
