Nexus 10 2 Release Date Within Q4 2013; Asus, NOT Samsung, To Manufacture Next-Gen 10-Inch Google Tablet?

Nexus 10 2 release date set for 4th quarter of this year, according to rumors.

There's an interesting twist on reports about Nexus 10 2 release date rumors as it is now claimed that Asus will be the one to produce the upcoming 10-inch tablet and not the Samsung.

The speculations regarding Nexus 10 2 release date started from Geek.com website, specifically from a post made by Russell Holly. The post noted that this time, Asus will be the one to manufacture the unofficially called Nexus 10 2. He also explained how Google creates its Nexus devices.

The post reads, "Google's Nexus program is something of a bidding war in the planning stages. Multiple companies submit designs to Google, who then evaluates which device they want to carry the Nexus branding for the next year. These devices demonstrate Google's vision for Android, free of carrier modifications and OEM software."

According to Holly, the rumors about the Asus-built Nexus 10 2 release date came from "multiple sources", confirming that the refreshed Google tablet will arrive in the market before the year ends. Reportedly, Nexus 10 2 release date will be set in time for the holiday season.

The original Nexus 10 was built by Samsung, and apparently, it did not prove to be as successful and popular as the Nexus 7, which was under Asus.

However, there is a chance for Nexus 10 2 to soar higher in the  market once its released as experts are seeing the tablet to get a rebranding as a "family tablet" since there are features on the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean (rumored to run on the device) which include restricted profiles. Aside from the advancement in the operating system, Nexus 10 2 specs that can make the tablet a winner may include higher resolution (possibly a 2560x1600), and a powerful processor like the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800.

The post from iDigital Times noted, "If Asus is producing the Nexus 10 2 refresh then it is likely to be well received." As pointed out by Phandroid, Asus and Google has established a good working relationship, as the former produced the highly-received Nexus 7 and the recently released Nexus 7 2.

More Nexus 10 2 release date news and rumors will pop up online and hopefully, fans would not have to wait for so long before the tablet arrives in the market.
