Sherlock Star Benedict Cumberbatch Talks Rugby Days As Gary Oldman Calls Him The Porsche 911 Of Actors

Benedict Cumberbatch may be busy filming "Sherlock" season 3, but the actor took the time to talk about his rugby days during a recent Vogue interview.

"Somebody said to me the other night, 'You're an overnight success, but it didn't happen overnight," revealed Benedict Cumberbatch.

Indeed, while Benedict Cumberbatch will be remembered for roles like Sherlock Holmes or Khan in "Star Freak: Into Darkness," he also took roles in "Atonement," "Spooks," and "Into the Universe with Stephen Hawking."

But now, after the success of "Sherlock" and a burgeoning film career, Benedict Cumberbatch is making quite the name for himself.

On top of girlfriend rumors with a Russian model, Benedict Cumberbatch is getting the praise of actor Gary Oldman.

"He's a stick-shift; he's changing up and changing down," said Oldman according to Radio Times.

"Someone like Tony Hopkins has this quiet intensity about him. That's your luxury sedan, then you've got Benedict. He's a Porsche 911."

In addition to acting, it appears Benedict Cumberbatch is also quite the rugby player.

"Everyone was confused," admitted Cumberbatch on his recreational habits during his school days.

"There's that chap from the rugby pitch; takes his tackle low and doesn't complain when he comes out of it badly. And oh, look, there he is wearing a wig and prancing around being Titania, queen of the fairies.' I covered all bases."
