If you've ever dreamt of being a princess, maybe alongside Ju Ji Hoon in "Princess Hours," Kim So Hyun in "The Moon Embracing The Sun, or Park Yoo Chun in "Rooftop Prince," you may be interested in visiting a few princely locations the next time you're in Korea. None of them are actually used as palaces since Korea no longer has a royal family, but they each have plenty of kdrama charm.

The exterior scenes of the Crown Prince's residence in "Princess Hours" were shot at a building that is now part of Duksung University. The university's Uni-dong campus is located at 114, Uni-dong, Jongno-gu. To get there, take subway line 3 to Anguk subway station, Exit 4 or line 5 to Jongno 3-ga subway station, Exit 5. Other "Princess Hours" scenes were filmed at Unhyeongung Royal Residence, which was once home to a  Joseon-era prince. The location of "The Moon Embracing The Sun" is actually an MBC film set that was also used in "Jumong," "Queen Seondeok" and "Dong Yi." It was built specially to film dramas on and contains historically accurate buildings from the Three Kingdoms era to the Joseon Dynasty. It is not always open to tourists so be sure to call ahead. The address is Gyeonggi-do Yongin-si Cheoin-gu, Baegam-myeon Yongcheon-ri 778-1. For more information, call  +82-31-1330. From Yongin Intercity Bus Terminal, take bus 10-4, 94 or 94-1. Get off at Baekam Terminal and transfer to bus 35-1. Or from Seoul Nambu Bus Terminal, take an intercity bus to Baekam Terminal and transfer.

To see the location for the "Rooftop Prince" wedding of Crown Prince Lee Gak and Hwa Young, visit Gyeonghui Palace. It was one of the "Five Grand Palaces" built during the Joseon era.  It is located at 55, Saemunan-ro, Jongno-gu. For more information, call +82-2-724-0121.
