One Direction's Liam Payne's new girlfriend is facing the wrath of 1D fans, called Directioners, and has been forced to delete Instagram posts and and battle hateful comments on her Twitter.

Liam Payne broke up with dancer Danielle Peazer in May, and is now reportedly dating Sophia Smith, according to The Daily Mirror. Smith went to school with Payne at St. Peter's Collegiate School in their hometown of Wolverhampton, England.

Since the news came out that Smith is Payne's new girlfriend, Directioners came out in droves to attack Sophia. According to The Daily Mirror, they bombarded Sophia's Twitter page with mean words.

One posted: "Back off you ****."

Sophia was forced to delete all of her Instagram pictures following the slew of comments on her photos, including a picture of her and Liam pulling funny faces, The Daily Mirror reports.

But angry Directioners are not enough to keeping Liam and Sophia away from each other. Liam is reportedly so into Sophia that he flew her 5,000 miles from their home town Wolverhampton to Los Angeles to be at his side during his concerts there, The Daily Mirror reports..

A friend of Liam's told the website: "Liam has really fallen for her. It's getting very serious, very fast."

Another source says Sophia is not attracted to Liam because of his fame or money: "She's a sweet normal girl who likes Liam for who he is, not because he's in the most famous boy band in the world."

The Daily Mirror says Liam and Sophia were recently spotted partying at London's Funky Buddha club. Sophia was also seen watching the One Direction concert at the Staples Center in LA last Friday, August 9, in the band's VIP area, mingling with Little Mix's Perrie Edwards - dating Zayn Malik - and Louis Tomlinson's girlfriend Eleanor Calder.
