Tony An Talks About Being Called A 'Cradle-Robber' For His Relationship With Girl's Day Hyeri

Tony An is no stranger to fame and recognition. As a member of first generation idol group H.O.T he spent years as the object of desire for many girls.

Earlier this year it was revealed that he and Girl's Day member Hyeri, who is sixteen years his junior, were in an intimate relationship.

While the media has largely quieted down about the matter since the initial shock, it seems some people still have a problem with the couple.

On the most recent episode of the SBS talk show Incarnation Tony An appeared alongside some other H.S.g.R.G (H.O.T, Sechs Kies, g.o.d, and NRG) members and opened up about the difficulties he still faces in light of his relationship with Hyeri.

"I went to an event one day and a bunch of guys were shouting in unison. I thought I had gained a lot of male fans and that they were shouting because of the popularity I received from H.S.g.R.G," he said.

"I couldn't really hear what they were saying so I put the microphone closer and I heard them chanting 'cradle-robber.'"

Tony An admitted, however, that even though he sometimes come under ridicule for dating Hyeri, he does not feel that there is that much of age differnce between two of them.

"Believe it or not, I don't feel a generation gap. She often gives me advice and is very mature," he explained.

Because they are both involved in the Korean entertainment industry, they have a lot in common.

When asked about the advice he gives his younger girlfriend about her career, Tony An was very truthful.

He responded, "Hyeri has a lot of dreams and fantasies about Girl's Day reaching number one on the music shows. I told her that after getting countless trophies when I was in H.O.T, it really means nothing now."

"She told me to stop being arrogant," he added with a smile.

Tony An appeared with other 90's K-Pop idols Eun Ji Won, Moon Hee Jun, Danny An, and Chun Myung Hoon on the most recent episode of Incarnation.
