Royal Baby Photos UPDATE: Who Took The Amateur Photo? Prince George’s First Royal Photo Lacks Technical Quality

Royal infant portraits are truly awaited for by the public and Prince George Alexander Louis of Cambridge is not an exception. However, despite its charming appearance, the royal baby photograph failed to meet the technical expectations of experts.

Previous heirs of the throne including Prince William have had their royal portraits taken by highly-acclaimed photographers such as Lord Snowdon and Sir Cecil Beaton. On the other hand, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge opted to have their son's photo taken by Mike Middleton, Kate's father.

The family portrait shows the future king sleeping peacefully in his mother's arms with Prince William beaming naturally.  Family pets Lupo and Tilly even joined the photo.

Instead of having the palace's grand courtyard as the setting, the royal couple chose the lush back garden of the Middletons' £4.8 million-worth Berkshire mansion.

The lovely appeal of the photo is unquestionable but for experts, it was unwise for Mr. Middleton to deviate from photography's cardinal rule - shooting into the light. Due to the blinding light of the background, the colors of the snapshots appeared to be washed out.

According to Kensington Palace, the photos were taken using an inexpensive "point and shoot" camera.

Celebrity photographer Brian Arias, in his interview with the Mail, sees the picture in a different way: "It's an unusual decision but perhaps reflects the young approach that Prince William wants to bring to bear. So perhaps they have had the right idea after all. It's just a different approach and the images are rather charming."

Although Kate is wearing a fuschia-coloured maternity dress from Seraphine, it appears that she is starting to regain her pre-pregnancy weight. William's casual outfit is composed of a blue checked shirt tucked into denim jeans. The couple's bundle of joy is enveloped in the same G H Hurt and Son Ltd cream shawl that he left hospital in.

While the new parents look a bit baggy-eyed, they are clearly in high spirits with the arrival of their beautiful baby boy.

A reliable source says that it was solely the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's decision to use the candid photo because they were very determined 'not to burst the happy little family bubble' that they have existed in at the Middleton's mansion since George's birth.

The source also added that the pictures served as the couple's gratitude for the privacy that they received after the birth, "They asked the media to give them some time as a family and the British media have done that."
