Miley Cyrus VMAs 2013 Performance ‘Overshadowed’ Robin Thicke? ‘Blurred Lines’ Singer Reportedly ‘Bummed’ About Not Winning Any MTV Awards

Miley Cyrus' performance at the 2013 MTV VMAs is what everyone was talking about after Sunday night, but did she rub Robin Thicke the wrong way (pun intended) by overshadowing his performance of "Blurred Lines?"

Miley Cyrus took to the stage first, performing "We Can't Stop" in a tiny leotard and dancing with oversized bars at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn for the MTV Video Music Awards Sunday, August 26. She then stripped down to nude-colored underwear.
Robin Thicke promptly joined her on stage and performed his hit "Blurred Lines," for which he was nominated for a few awards at the 2013 MTV VMAs.
However, Us Weekly reports that Thicke is a little peeved that the 20-year-old starlet stole his thunder last night, somewhere between stroking him with a giant foam finger and twerking against his body.
"Robin thought it would be fun to include Miley, but he didn't realize how much she would overshadow him. This was his big night and big performance," a source told Us Weekly of Thicke.
"I don't think he would have done it knowing what it ended up like," the source continued.
"He's also super bummed that he didn't win, especially Video of the Year."
Thicke had four VMA nominations: Video of the Year, Best Male Video, Best Collaboration, and Best Song of the Summer, The Huffington Post reports.
"He had fun and was fine with how it came out," countered a Thicke confidante, Us Weekly reports. "He knew what they were going to do and thought it was fun and awesome. He had a great time."
Robin Thicke's Twitter posts from last night's performance exposed nothing of this apparent grudge against Miley.
"Got @MileyCyrus sitting to my left. Going to be a good night. Let's go #VMA's," Thicke tweeted before their duet.
After the VMAs ended, he tweeted: "That was dope. Shout out to @MileyCyrus @kendricklamar @2chainz"
He also added: "Such a wild night. Thanks to @MTV for letting me be apart of it. #VMA"
