EXO And 2AM Talk About Their Experience Performing At KCON 2013 In Los Angeles

It wasn't just the fans in attendance living it up at KCON 2013, the two-day event held at the Los Angeles Memorial Sports Arena on Saturday and Sunday celebrating "all things hallyu."

According to the members of the groups EXO and 2AM, both who performed at KCON 2013, spending some time in Los Angles was a thrilling change of pace.

"Yesterday we ate dinner, and a lot of people recognized us as EXO," band member Suho told eNEWS at a KCON press conference on Sunday held soon before they performed.

"So we felt that there's no difference between Korean fans and international fan and that music can be communicated around the world."

2AM member Lee Changmin said that although the four-man band has been to LA before, it is still a nerve-wracking experience performing there.

"This is our second time in Los Angeles, and we're so happy to meet the fans and press here again," Changmin said. "We're feeling a little nervous about our upcoming performance."

As a group that draws influences from numerous places, 2AM frontman Jo Kwon described their experience in Southern California as an inspiring one.

"We mainly do ballads and R&B but we get a lot of inspiration from many different genres," Jo explained.

"We also do a lot of different solo activities, like dramas or musicals, so there's inspiration from there. After coming to LA, we got a lot of inspiration here too."

Super Junior-M band member and successful solo artist Henry, also performing at KCON 2013, was on hand at Sunday's press conference to discuss his new single "1-4-3 (I Love You)," featuring f(x)'s Amber.

According to the 23-year-old Canadian born singer, "1-4-3 (I Love You)," describes a feeling of feeling out of place in an unfamiliar culture that was similar to his own experience when he traveled to South Korea after being offered a development deal by record label S.M. Entertainment in 2006.

"'1-4-3' talks about a guy like me, who went to Korea, where I didn't get the culture, and well, when I first got there, you meet some girls, and you tend to like some of them," Henry said.

"Basically, the song just talks about that."

The star-studded lineup at KCON 2013 was also broadcast live on the program "Global M Countdown," as part of the program's "What's Up LA?" series.
