Batman Vs Superman Cast : Breaking Bad Villain Bryan Cranston Signs Six-movie Deal To Portray More Complex Luthor Character

Bryan Cranston, a villain in the popular "Breaking Bad" TV series has been confirmed to play Lex Luthor in the Superman Sequel. The character will supposedly be presented differently in this sequel.

The role of Walter White, the chemist who eventually became the meth-lord in "Breaking Bad," was a worthy audition for the Lex Luthor role. As reported by Rolling Stone magazine, Cranston has signed on for a six-movie contract.

The multiple appearances has ignited speculation that the Man of Steel sequel, currently under the definitive working title "Batman vs Superman," is merely Step Two of a major DC Universe movie explosion, similar to the one that Marvel has orchestrated.

The choice for an older Lex Luthor was a prerequisite for the more complex character that Luthor will portray. Luthor will no longer be presented as the raving billionaire lunatic obsessed with obliterating the Man of Steel. The character will have many different levels.

Luthor will not be inherently and obviously evil this time. He will still be a billionaire, which we surmise because of all the LEXCORP logos in the background of Metropolis in the "Man of Steel," and he will be bald (probably why they chose Cranston, but really) but the simplistic greed and obsession won't be the prevailing thought.

In fact, the entire production intentionally clouds the lines of good and evil. The portrayal of General Zod, for example, as one who simply wishes to preserve his people, took away the "obviously evil" tag and led to some minor debates. The conflict between Batman and Superman, who are supposed to be heroes, is also something to anticipate.
