Sherlock Season 3 Filming Continues In London As Benedict Cumberbatch Joins Downton Abbey Actor For New Movie

"Sherlock" season 3 may still be filming, but Benedict Cumberbatch is already signing on for another movie, this time with "Downton Abbey" actor Allen Leech and Keira Knightley.

According to The Telegraph, Cumberbatch will join Knightley and Allen Leech (Tom Branson on "Downton Abbey") in "Imitation Game," a film about the scientist Alan Turing.

Cumberbatch will take on the title role.

So far this year, Benedict Cumberbatch's movies include upcoming "The Fifth Estate" in September, "12 Years a Slave" in October, and "August: Osage County" in December.

Recently, Benedict Cumberbatch has been confirmed to lend his voice to "The Penguins of Madagascar," a spin-off of the lucrative "Madagascar" franchise.

According to BBC America, Benedict Cumberbatch will play an animal CIA agent who is hot on the trails of a baddie, voiced by John Malkovitch.

In addition, Benedict Cumberbatch will share a movie title with fellow "Sherlock" star Martin Freeman as the voice of the dragon Smaug in "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug."

But prior to that, Benedict Cumberbatch is still busy filming "Sherlock" season 3, with "His Last Vow" still filming until early September.

Through some location photos captured by the Daily Mail, we can see Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman enjoying filming a scene at a London pizzeria.

Because of "Sherlock" season 3 filming, fans have been swarming any location shoots, and Twitter recently ignited with the hashtag #setlock with photos.

"Sherlock" season 3 episode 3 will feature a new villain, Augustus Magnussen. Portrayed by Lars Mikkelsen, the villain is loosely based on the Sherlock Holmes character Charles Augustus Milverton, known as "the king of blackmailers."
