Group CNBLUE Rocks Out in Malaysia

Blue Moon,

Now I'm no longer alone,

You know just what I was there for,

You heard me saying a prayer for.

'Blue Moon' lyrics by Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart

Once in a blue moon...is indeed rare. It was reported that a blue moon has graced the night sky last Saturday night in Kuala Lumpur, giving skywatchers their last chance to observe this celestial phenomenon. As the moon wax to its full phase at 7.30pm in the middle of the blue oceanic crowds, just like the lyrics from the classic song above, this rare occasion is like answering the prayer of thousands of 'its' fans', to catch a glimpse of it. Oops~don't get me wrong. I'm not referring to any of the astronomical phenomenon here but 2013 CNBLUE BLUE MOON WORLD TOUR Live in Stadium Negara Kuala Lumpur.

In comparison with other Korean idols, there'll be no slick dance moves and choreography to be anticipated here, but this four-membered band, made up of frontman Jung Yong Hwa, lead guitarist Lee Jonghyun, drummer Kang Min Hyuk and bassist Lee Jungshin, looking handsomely on stage and ready to head banging with almost 5000 enthusiastic crowds carrying blue light stick for their 'first touch' in Malaysia.

Kick starting the show with Where You Are, suddenly the circular moon shape area at the front part of the stage covered with a gigantic white cloth with a wording 'CNBLUE WE ARE HERE', slowly revealing the fans who were standing underneath the cloth. This was the special project prepared by the Malaysian Boice (CNBLUE fans) for this concert. The band continued rocking the night with Get Away and during One Time, the crowds sang along with the band as when the lyrics hit the part 'I know', the audience chanting back to the band 'You Know'.

After a solid introduction performance, the band greeted the audience in Malay (the national language of Malaysia) by asking the audience Apa khabar semua? (How is everyone doing?) and this Malay spiels effectively connected the members with the audience. The boys seem to be in a chatty mood that night. When Lee Jungshin took on the mic and asked the audience 'Rindu Kami? (Do You Miss Me?) Kami pun rindu kamu. (We miss you too)' the crowds grew wild and the screams took another octaves since the members took the effort to communicate in the local language.. Minhyuk continued the excitement by sharing his favourite Malaysian delicacies such as Satay and Nasi Lemak. In his fluent Malay, he stated 'Saya mahu makan satay' (I want to eat satay). As if the screams are not enough, the members of CNBLUE even teased the fans by saying 'Diam Sekali' (So Quiet) which leads the fans to screams their lungs out to show their love and support to the band.

The band continued to hype up the audience with their fantastic guitar skills and drumbeats while singing to Naran Namja, Coffee Shop, Have a Goodnight and Wake Up. With a 360 degrees moonshape stage, the members were roamed around the stage freely and interacting with audience while performing. Min Hyuk's drum set platform was also hydraulically moved to the front part of the stage in order to give the audience a close up view of him. To slow down the temperature in the stadium, Yonghwa started to hum ' Oh Malaysia, You're my nostalgia' and he started to strum the guitar to the beat of Love Light. The beautiful melodies that flowed through the strings of the guitar coupled with their 'loverboys image' as if professing their love to audience accentuating the emotions felt every beat the song reaches its crescendo. Adding up to this romantic mood, the audience can be seen holding up a pink heart-shaped paper through out the entire performance of this song. The band also performed their ballad sets such as Feelings, These Days, and Y, Why.

Halfway through the performance, the band seems to have the 'intuition' that the energy in the stadium might have dried up and being the frontman, Yonghwa once again bring back the audience to scream out loud. After listening him yelling out  'Kuat Lagi' (Louder!), its like an alarm that woke you up in the morning and the screams suddenly brought to another high decibels. They further continued with Intuition before swiftly transitioning to I'm A Loner and I'm Sorry.

Eventhough there's no fabulous props or flashy costumes to be paraded on stage, CNBLUE returned to the stage after taking a breather, feeling good with another hot catchy tune song Feeling Good. This song was somewhat special as it was composed by Yonghwa himself in conjunction with their partnership with Samsung and being the brand ambassador for Samsung Galaxy themselves. This song was also being performed LIVE for the first time and the atmosphere feeling is getting good even as the concert almost came to an end. Despite nearing the end of the concert, the band requested the audience to create a huge human wave before wrapping up with Hey You, Love Girl, L.O.V.E.

'I'm gonna smile again, smile again, ...I want to try to smile all night' and this was their promise as they performed their finale song, Try Again, Smile Again. They want to leave the audience with a happy and cheerful smile before they bade goodbye to the audience. As a token of appreciation for keeping their promise to the fans who have been waiting for their solo appearance on the Malaysian soil, the audience once again were seen to holding handbanners with 'thank you message to CNBLUE for being here and keeping up to their promise'.

This Blue Moon is usually a rare phenomenon happened in the astrological calendar but with CNBLUE's grueling and hectic schedule through out the year, looks like the year of 2013 will be witnessing an unexplainable astronomical phenomenon within our galaxy. Congratulations once again to CNBLUE for another successful tour in Kuala Lumpur.
