Ben Affleck To Play Batman In 'Man Of Steel' Sequel Should Be Easy According To Matt Damon: 'He's Not Playing King Lear. It's Batman!'

While people are protesting against Ben Affleck playing Batman in the "Man Of Steel" sequel, Matt Damon thinks people should chill because the role is not that serious.

In an interview with Time Of India the "Good Will Hunting" star said his homeboy Affleck had way harder roles than this.

"I know there are a lot of people grousing on the internet. I just think it's kind of funny. You know, he's not playing King Lear. It's Batman! Certainly within his skill set," said Damon. "If anybody saw 'Argo' or 'The Town' and all the work he's been doing lately, it's way more nuanced and interesting and way more difficult than Batman!"

Damon added that his buddy Affleck might find it more challenging to play Batman's true identity.

"Batman just sits there with his cowl over his head and whispers in a kinda gruff voice at people," said the former "Born Identity" star. "Bruce Wayne is the more challenging part of the role, and Ben will be great at that... But it's safe to say I won't be Robin."

Damon concluded that he is looking forward to the movie that is schedule for release in 2015.

"I think it will be great. It will be terrific," he said.

Last Friday it was announced that the "Argo" Oscar winner would play Batman, after going up against contenders like Ryan Gosling, Josh Brolin, and even Dark Knight's Christian Bale.

In fact, Affleck is said to be signed on as Batman for multiple movies if "Man Of Steel" sequels continue.

Casting Affleck as Batman ruffled more than a few feathers due to how poorly his 2003 role as superhero "Daredevil," was received.
