‘New Girl’ Season 2 Episodes Coming To Netflix, Release Date Same Day As Season 3 Premiere Date In September

"New Girl" season 2 episodes are coming to Netflix, and the release date is the same day as the "New Girl" season 3 premiere date on September 17.

According to, at the beginning of July, Netflix announced that it had signed "an exclusive multi-year streaming deal with 20th Century Fox to stream the sitcom 'New Girl,'" which stars Zooey Deschanel. Netflix immediately added the first season.

Now, just two months later, Netflix announced a release date for season 2. reports that Netflix will release season 2 episodes for streaming on September 17th.

This is the same day Season 3 of "New Girl" premieres on Fox, the website reports.

"New Girl has proven to be the biggest breakout sitcom hit of the season and we are thrilled to be able offer it so quickly to our U.S. subscribers," said Netflix Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos, when the company first announced the content acquisition, reports. "We know our members love comedies and that they'll enjoy watching all the current and future episodes of New Girl whenever and wherever they want."

This may excite fans, but the only downside is that you're not going to have the privilege of a few weeks to get caught up on season 2 before season 3 premieres, notes. But at least the seasons are rolling out fast, as only a few months passed between the release of the seasons' episodes.

"We are delighted that Netflix viewers will now have the opportunity to enjoy this remarkable comedy," added Gina Brogi, Executive Vice President, Worldwide Pay Television and Subscription Video on Demand, 20th Century Fox Television Distribution.
