Seungri Says He 'Nagged' His Big Bang Bandmate G-Dragon For Advice On His Solo Album 'Let's Talk About Love'

Big Bang has been blowing up the pop charts this summer, but not as a band.

Rather, band members Seungri and G-Dragon have both been making major waves with their solo releases.

In an interview Sunday with the publication eNEWS, Seungri admitted that he hounded the more experienced Big Bang rapper for advice on making his second EP "Let's Talk About Love," released on August 19.

"I actually asked for a lot of advice from [big brother] G-Dragon. I even nagged him, asking for help," the 22-year-old singer said with a laugh.

Seungri recalled that G-Dragon, who released several songs from his forthcoming "Coup d'Etat" album Monday to a tide of critical and commercial buzz, echoed the advice he had received from others, to follow his heart.

"Everyone around me told me that since it's my first album in two years and seven months I should say what I have to say," Seungri said.

"That really woke me up. I worked on it from track one, and I think I ended up putting in everything I wanted to say."

Seungri's efforts to express himself honestly also appear to have paid off commercially, as the album continues to produce chart topping singles.

Seungri's song "Gotta Talk To You" from "Let's Talk About Love" is currently number 10 in its second week on the Billboard K-Pop Hot 100. "GG Be," featuring Jennie Kim, is number 24.

According to Seungri, "Gotta Talk To You" was based on his own dating experiences.

"I wrote 'Gotta Talk To You' thinking of what its like when I try to hit on a girl," said the Big Bang singer. "I made it that way because I'm not too outgoing but not too shy either in relationships."

And although he and G-Dragon may be competing for album sales, Seungri dismissed any notion of competition between the two.

"We're not going to compete," he said.

"Though we're promoting solo, we're still Big Bang's Seungri and Big Bang's G-Dragon. If we do great solo, it'll be great for Big Bang as a whole too. It's cool and I really [enjoy] how we all promote individually and are successful."

Seungri enlisted the help of Big Bang's Taeyang and G-Dragon on the title track of his album.
