Kate Upton Model 'Lazy Girl' Because She Is American According To Agency + Victoria's Secret Says They "Would Never Use" Her

Despite being model of the year, Kate Upton was accused of being a lazy American girl and rejected from Victoria's Secret.

While gracing the cover of the October birthday issue of Vanity Fair, Uptown admitted to the publication that she hasn't always received great reviews about her appearance.

In fact, the model says one agency dismissed her just because of her American descent.

"I'm not going to name names, but one agency told me, 'You're too American, and everybody knows American women are lazy.' I was so offended!" she recalls. "I've never been so offended! I was like, 'You know that you're in America, right?' And it wasn't 'American models'—it was 'American women are lazy,' period! I feel like a lot of women would disagree with that. A lot!"

In addition, in a past New York Times article it was reported that Victoria's Secret Fashion Show casting agent Sophia Neophitou said the model didn't have a chance with the lingerie company because of her common looks.

"She's like a footballer's wife, with the too-blond hair and that kind of face that anyone with enough money can go out and buy," said Neophitou.

This comes as a contradiction since Upton did have a brief career with Victoria's Secret until she was let go in 2012.
