Rainbow's Seung Ah Accepts Her First Musical Role As Sandy In 'Grease'

Another K-Pop idol will soon make her musical debut - Rainbow's Seung Ah.

A common trend among K-Pop idols lately has been roles in theatrical musicals.

When you think about it, they are rather perfect for the job. Most members of boy bands and girl groups have undergone years of vocal and dance training already, so we know they have talent in that respect.

But when they are not busy in the studio or putting on live shows, they are trying their hands at acting. Many have accepted parts in dramas and movies, and those who haven't are still common fixtures on television with guest spots on variety and talk shows.

Needless to say, K-Pop idols are talented and have the performance know-how needed for an on-stage role.

Rainbow's Seung Ah is the latest singer to sign on to star in a musical theater production, and she is definitely not staring out small.

Early on September 4, her agency, DSP Media, confirmed the rumors stating that Seung Ah has landed the part of Sandy in the upcoming production of Grease.

The sweet, albeit naïve, role of Sandy is perfect for the loveable Seung Ah, who has won the hearts of many fans for her loveable character and on-stage charms.

The Rainbow singer will officially join the cast made up of Lee Ji Yoon, Moon Hee Ra, Jung Min, Kang Min Soo, Kim Bo Sun and Choi Mi So for the newest production of Grease that will open at the Uniplex Seoul on October 22.
