G-Dragon Considers Live Collaboration With Contestants From His Record Label's Reality Show 'WIN: Who Is Next?'

G-Dragon has been making headlines with his recent A-list collaborations with international superstars like Missy Elliott and Diplo.

But the Big Bang rapper is also considering teaming up onstage with the group of mostly unknown performers that make up Team A and Team B on the reality TV competition "Win: Who Is Next?"

The show, which airs on the South Korean networks Mnet and tvN, features two teams of aspiring male K-pop artists facing off to win votes from viewers, as they compete for the chance to become a YG Entertainment boy band member.

Created by the Yang Hyun Suk, CEO of Big Bang's record label, G-Dragon has said that "Win: Who Is Next?" looks like "a real battlefield."

"G-Dragon recently expressed to the agency his interest in the contestants of 'WIN' featuring on stage with him for his new single," an YG Entertainment executive representing G-Dragon told a reporter from the publication Star News on Wednesday.

But for any conspiracy theorists that believe G-Dragon was muscled into extending the offer by his record label, the anonymous YG exec said the idea took everyone at the label by surprise.

"We were also surprised by G-Dragon's special love for [the contestants]," the YG rep said.

"Although it is not confirmed when the 'WIN' trainees will stand on G-Dragon's stage, as much as G-Dragon expressed his intent, there is a high possibility that this will happen."

The Big Bang rapper's song Let's Shake The World" is currently used in the opening credits of "WIN: Who Is Next?"

The website allkpop speculates that G-Dragon's offer could come from the star's desire to pay back the opportunity he had to perform onstage with K-pop singer Se7en before he made his debut with Big Bang.

G-Dragon released several songs from his forthcoming "Coup d'Etat" album Monday to a tide of critical and commercial buzz.

Last month the rapper was the main event at the two-day K-pop festival KCON in Los Angeles, when he headlined a long list of high-profile performers on the second day with hip-hop superstar Missy Elliott.

The pair debuted their new collaboration featured on "Coup d'Etat."

Entitled "Niliria," the three-minute long song, featuring a sample from a Korean traditional folk song of the same name, was a high point of the two-day festival.
