Girls’ Generation Making History to Release “The Boys” in France

Girls’ Generation that just finished their debut successfully in America will now release “The Boys” album in France on February 13. This will mark them as the first K-Pop artist to officially distribute an album in the European market.

“Girls’ Generation will officially be releasing their album, ‘The Boys,’ through Universal Music Group’s Polydor Records,” shared SM Entertainment.

The album is groundbreaking as no other Korean artist published their album through an official European music label. There was a co-ed group Koreana who had released a single through Polydor Records in France back in 1970, but it was just a single album with small scale distribution.

“Girls Generation already has proven their marketability through their concert in France last year. Through their album release in France, Girls’ Generation will truly be able to run worldwide promotions,” shared SM Entertainment.

Girls Generation will take off to Paris to attend a music event at the Bercy stadium in Paris.
