There are reports indicating that iOS 7 and OS X Mavericks release date will be the same. However, a report from Gotta Be Mobile, citing 9to5Mac, contradicts the report, saying that OS X Mavericks release date is scheduled for the latter part of next month so the Cupertino-based tech firm can concentrate with the launch of its newest mobile operating system, the iOS 7, alongside iPhone 5S and the iPhone 5C. iOS 7 release date is set for this month, particularly, next Tuesday, September 10.  This claim about the OS X Mavericks release date came from anonymous "with knowledge of the launch plans", as posted in the report.

Going back to rumors about OS X Mavericks release date, if Apple will stick to its pattern, it is possible that the latest OS may arrive one day after the announcements of Apple's 4^th quarter earnings result, which usually happens on the second half of October. Former OS X updates such as OS X Mountain and OS X Lion were launched a day following the release of its Apple's earnings result.

The tech giant is also expected to launch new versions of Apple hardware products, such as the MacBook Pro 2013, which allegedly, will coincide with OS X Mavericks release date.

OS X Mavericks will be equipped with new features and enhancements such as quicker Safari, new apps for iBooks and Maps, multiple-monitor support and a redesigned Calendar app. Finder app will have more flexibility.
