Sherlock Season 3 Filming Completed [PHOTO]: Benedict Cumberbatch Replaced By Tom Hiddleston In 'Crimson Peak'

As "Sherlock" season 3 filming comes to an end, Benedict Cumberbatch is rapidly developing his film career with release of "The Fifth Estate," despite Tom Hiddleston replacing the actor in "Crimson Peak."

As updated by "Sherlock" season 3 producer Sue Vertue, filming for the series is officially coming to an end after a long stint of trying to complete the three episodes of the season.

Now, fans are eagerly anticipating an air date for season 3, and despite several rumors that range anytime from November to January of next year, nothing has been confirmed.

Meanwhile, "Sherlock" actor Benedict Cumberbatch is busy promoting his latest movies, "The Fifth Estate," "12 Years a Slave," and "August: Osage County."

"It's great. I wish I could enjoy the moment a bit more, (but) that's always the thing, isn't it?" says Cumberbatch according to USA Today.

But with so many movies in the works, his previous engagement with the upcoming Guillermo Del Toro gothic horror film "Crimson Peak" will go to fellow actor Tom Hiddleston ("Thor").

"As these things do, they sent me the script about two weeks ago and it was a very new draft," says Hiddleston, who will replace Benedict Cumberbatch in the movie. "I know Mia, who I'll be playing with very closely, and I know Jessica Chastain very well. I've met Guillermo before. And we are all admirers of each others' stuff. And everyone said yes! I'm really, really excited about it."

"As soon as Guillermo called, I called Benedict and I said this is happening, and he was like, 'Amazing!' So, I had his blessing."
