Matt Bomer Celebrates Wentworth Miller Coming Out As Fans Try To Identify His Boyfriend: Prison Break Star Talks Suicide Attempts And Russian Anti-Gay Laws

It's been a revelatory month for Wentworth Miller, who has been celebrated after coming out by members of the gay community like Matt Bomer as fans attempt to identify his boyfriend.

Wentworth Miller's coming out has been tied to his protest of Russia's anti-gay laws, and subsequently identified himself as a gay man in an open letter in response to an invitation to the St. Petersburg Film Festival.

"Thank you for your kind invitation. As someone who has enjoyed visiting Russia in the past and can also claim a degree of Russian ancestry, it would make me happy to say yes. However, as a gay man, I must decline," writes Wentworth Miller according to Zimbio.

"I am deeply troubled by the current attitude toward and treatment of gay men and women by the Russian government. The situation is in no way acceptable, and I cannot in good conscience participate in a celebratory occasion hosted by a country where people like myself are being systematically denied their basic right to live and love openly."

After coming out, actor Matt Bomer is celebrating the brave act. "I am really proud of him. It's very reflective of his amazing character," says Bomer regarding Wentworth Miller.

Prior to coming out, Wentworth Miller admits to multiple suicide attempts, including swallowing a bottle of pills as a 15-year-old.

"I don't remember what happened over the next couple of days but I'm pretty sure come Monday morning I was on the bus back to school pretending everything was fine," says the "Prison Break" star according to New York Daily News.

But on a lighter note, one trend that has caught on is fans attempting to identify Wentworth Miller's boyfriend, and the major consensus goes to actor Luke MacFarlane.
