GI Releases Music Video For 'Don't Lie' Featuring Dok2

On September 3, Global Icon (GI), Simtong Entertainment's tomboy girl group, dropped their first mini-album Tremendous with the title track "ㄱ."

Shortly after its release, however, the girls announced that while they liked the dong very much, it was not their first choice for the album's title track.

Now they have released the music video for the original lead single "Booshit (Don't Lie)" featuring rapper Dok2.

Plans to promote "Booshit (Don't Lie)" as the title track for Tremendous were halted after the song was banned from airing on radio and TV due to "excessive profanity."

"We prepared the song for a while," said GI's agency. "We are so disappointed that we can't put on a good stage because it was banned."

However, 19+ ratings do not extend to the internet and as of September 9, the group has unveiled the music video for "Booshit (Don't Lie)" through Simtong Entertainment's official YouTube channel.

It is a fairly simple video with the focus solely on the group's five members. There is minimal choreography and visually low-key, but as a girl-group-of-a-different-color, that is not particularly surprising.

"Booshit (Don't Lie)" allows the ladies to show off their individual rapping and singing talents without a bunch of flashy fanfare to distract from the song itself.

Dok2's verse blends in nicely and the gender-bending concept seems to be working well for GI.
