Nine Muses Forced To Work Through Chuseok To Prepare For First Full-Album Release Next Month

While Twitter has been flooded with images of top K-pop stars enjoying their three-day Chuseok holiday this week, there's one act that won't be partaking in the festivities.

The nine-member girl group Nine Muses, who are releasing their first full-length album in October, will be working straight through Chuseok holiday band member Hyuna explained to the publication Star News on Wednesday.

"We're gearing up for our album release so we recently shot our album jacket and are practicing our choreography," Hyuna explained.

"We will keep on practicing during Chuseok too. This year's Chuseok will be more of a period of preparation for our album rather than a holiday."

Chuseok, which is often referred to as the Korea's Thanksgiving, began on Thursday.

Yet despite being required to work through the holiday, Nine Muses band member Minha couldn't contain her excitement about the group's new album.

"This will be our first full-length album since our debut three years ago so we're very, very excited," she said.

"As there are a lot of tracks, Nine Muses's nine members fused their individual charms to become one. There are songs that we haven't tried before and each song is worth listening. I am looking forward to it."

Reflecting back at what has been a big year for the group, it is the fan interaction that Nine Muses singer Hyemi hopes to have more of, moving forward.

"We always want to say thanks to our fans," Hyemi said. "A lot more fans supported and took care of us this year and as the year comes to a close, we hope that we have more events through which we can get closer with our fans."

While her bandmate Lee Sem has hopes of award shows

"We haven't participated in an awards ceremony yet," Lee Sem said. "We hope to stand on stage at an awards ceremony at the end of this year."

While Hyuna hopes to share the bill with some of the other artists on the Star Empire Entertainment roster.

"We want to hold a concert with our label mates ZE:A, V.O.S, and Jewelry," she said.

Canadian Nine Muses fans will be able to view Hark Joon Lee's documentary about the band, when it is screened at the Vancouver International Film Festival later this month.
