Miley Cyrus performed her new single, “Wrecking Ball,” live for the first time during her set at the iHeartRadio music festival in Las Vegas yesterday and it was an emotional premiere. During the performance, Miley Cyrus broke down and cried and ran offstage for a reassuring hug from her mom.

The media has been saying that Miley Cyrus’ new song, “Wrecking Ball,” is a heart-wrenching ballad directed at Miley Cyrus’ relationship with Liam Hemsworth. There are published reports that the Miley Cyrus VMAs 2013 performance drove a big wedge in their dating plans..

Performers at the iHeartRadio festival at the MGM Grand Arena included Justin Timberlake, Bruno Mars, Paul McCartney and Drake. Elton John, Katy Perry and Chris Brown on Friday and Jason Derulo, Avril Lavigne, The Wanted and The Band Perry on Saturday.

Miley Cyrus will host and perform on "Saturday Night Live" on October 5.

The new Miley Cyrus album, "Bangerz," drops next month.
