Which Girl's Day Member Has The Best Chance Of Solo Success?

One of the Girl's Day members is going solo... but which one?

On September 21, the girl group's agency Dream Tea Entertainment, announced that one of the Girl's Day members would be making her solo debut in November.

"One member of Girl's Day will release a single this November and begin promoting as a solo artist," said a rep for the group. "We are currently discussing which member will meet fans with a solo track."

Fans of the K-Pop girl group have taken to the internet to try and sort out just which member it could be - a tough task as all four members could easily pull it off.

Minah was the obvious first guess for many. She already is the unofficial face of the group and has the most name recognition in the group (for her talent, at least). As the lead vocalist for Girl's Day, Minah has already proven that she has the necessary singing abilities, stage presence, and sex appeal to go solo.

She also cites Lee Hyori and Beyonce as her musical idols (read: former girl group members who have multiplied their popularity tenfold after going solo). While her stage personality is still rather cutesy, stepping in the spotlight alone could give Minah the opportunity to take her career a step further and in a more mature direction.

The group's leader and oldest member Sojin, is another viable option. While Minah's sound is reflected in many of Girl's Day's songs, giving Sojin the chance to shine on stage alone would be a very welcomed change of pace for a lot of fans.

Sojin is already incredibly popular and well-respected by the public and it would not be a stretch to find support for her solo project.

Additionally, Sojin plays the piano and has said several times before that she enjoys writing songs. Could the Girl's Day soloist be planning to rock a Sojin original?

Or perhaps Dream Tea is planning to take a page from YG Entertainment's book and have the solo debut take on a completely different feel from the group's usual fare a'la 2NE1's CL? In this case, Yura would be the obvious choice.

Yura is often overshadowed by the other group members, but she is Girl's Day's lead rapper. If the group and their agency wanted to go for the shock factor, it might be a good idea to make over Yura and give her a harder edge.

Even though she is not the strongest singer in the bunch, Yura is arguably the best dancer and if she were to go solo, fans would be able to expect something entertaining and energetic.

But what about Girl's Day's youngest member Hyeri?

Hyeri has been in the spotlight a lot this year, but not for her musical abilities. Her very public relationship with first-generation idol group star Tony An helped make Hyeri a household name.

She is undoubtedly talented, but from a PR standpoint, if Hyeri were to momentarily jump ship and release a solo single, the public and media backlash might make things difficult for the rest of the group. It would be hard to explain Hyeri's going solo without people assuming her high-profile relationship had something to do with it.

For now, it seems like the mystery Girl's Day soloist is probably going to be Minah or Sojin. Yura would be an unexpected, but welcomed, change of pace and Hyeri would certainly be a shot in the foot.
