Actress Park Si Yeon gave birth to a 7-pound healthy baby girl late Tuesday morning in a hospital in Seoul.

According to a statement from Park's management company Didim531 to the publication eNEWS, the actress made sure to pick a hospital with an experienced maternity ward.

"For the safety of both the mother and child, they visited a safe hospital that is ranked number one in the nation for the most experience," the statement read.

"Both the mother and infant are healthy, and her husband and mother are quite delighted with the birth of their daughter."

Park's child is born as the actress finds herself still embroiled in a propofol abuse trial, along with actresses Lee Seung Yeon and Jang Mi Inae, which has dragged on for months.

Mainly used an anesthetic, propofol is perhaps best known for causing Michael Jackson's fatal overdose in 2009, when it was mixed with the psychoactive drug benzodiazepine.

Back in May, Park was reportedly charged with illegally using propofol 185 times between 2011 and 2012.

Since then, the actress has attended eight hearings for her use of the drug, before missing her court case last week due to the pregnancy.

"It's difficult for her to be in the courthouse for a long period of time," explained a court official ahead of the actress's planned absence in court. "Only her lawyer will be present."

Back in May, a witness described in published reports as Mr. Ahn, admitted he lied about Park abusing propofol.

Instead, he claimed the drug was administered to the actress purely for the treatment of her pain stemming from a 2006 on-set injury.

"Park Si Yeon did not receive any treatment at the hospital other than those for her pain and beauty," Ahn said.

"The receipts match up. I lied when I told prosecution she was dependent [on the drug]. I am very sorry toward Park Si Yeon."

Park, Lee and Jang are just the recent round of celebrities to be accused of abusing the anesthetic, which typically needs to administered by a trained medical professional.

Earlier this year, South Korean R&B singer Wheesung faced propofol abuse charges while serving in the army, before being acquitted in July.

Actress Hyun Young has been in a self-imposed hiatus since being indicted back in March, for abusing the drug.
