Alanis Morissette Sued by Former Nanny for $130,000; Alanis Morissette Says Nanny Has `Hand in My Pocket’ (Video)

Alanis Morisette, who sang “Hand In My Pocket,” has another hand reaching for $130,000. Alanis Morissette and her husband Mario Treadway are being sued by their former nanny, Bianca Cambeiro. TMZ says the nanny’s time with Alanis Morissette was like a “hostage” situation at times. Alanis Morissett’s nanny wants a trial by jury.

Alanis Morisette and her rapper husband Mario “Souleye” Treadway Mario Treadway, her husband, are by being sued by Bianca Cambiero, their former nanny, for $130,000. According to published reports the nanny is suing Alanis Morissette for $30,000 in back overtime pay and another $100,000 for “emotional stress.”

According to Radar Online, Alanis Morisette and Mario Treadway used to lock the nanny in a bedroom with Ever, their newborn son. Ever was born on Christmas Day 2010. According to the report, Alanis Morisette kept the nanny locked up for her entire twelve-hour shift and refused to let her out of the room.

Bianca Camiero was Alanis Morissette’s nanny from August 2011 until March 2013. Published reports say the nanny made $25 an hour to work the graveyard shift. According to the Daily Mail the nanny Cambeiro worked three or four days a week from 9 p.m. to 9 a.m. The Daily Mail concludes that the nanny was paid $25 an hour to sleep in the same room as a Alanis Morissette’s baby.

Cambiero claims she was not even allowed to go to the bathroom. The nanny claims that the only times she would get a break was when Alanis Morissette or Mario Treadway were in the room or at the end of her shift when relieved by the daytime nanny. The nanny also says that when she went on tour with Alanis Morissette she had to work seven days in a row on seven different occasions.

Bianca Camiers filed the lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court this week. Both the night and day nannies asked Alanis Morissette’s accountant about being paid overtime in January 2012. Cambeiro was “never, once, paid overtime, regardless of the schedule or hours she worked and was denied meal and rest breaks daily.” They allegedly were told, “We don’t do that,” according to the lawsuit.

Alanis Morissette won seven Grammy Awards. The Canadian singer played God in the film “Dogma” and acts the hit series “Weeds” on Showtime. Alanis Morissette is also known as an outspoken environmentalist.
