Google Nexus 5 Release Date, Rumors: Features Android Kit Kat 4.4 And Wireless Charging, According To Leaked Details?

Google Nexus 5 and the new Android Kit Kat 4.4 operating system may have a release date next month, as well as wireless charging features, according to leaked details and rumors.

The Google Nexus 5 was originally going to run Android 4.3 Jelly Bean with LG as its manufacturer, Design & Trend reports. Now, rumors are suggesting that Google will release Nexus 5 and Nexus 11 running Android Kit Kat 4.4 at a big Google event in October.

According to recent rumors, October 14 is being touted as the likely release date for the Nexus 5 and Kit Kate 4.4, The Christian Post reports.

A log file has sparked the new rumors after being unveiled by blog site Myce. The file shows the upcoming Android operating system, Kit Kat 4.4, running on the next Nexus, revealing information about the device.

These rumors are likely true, as it's not uncommon for Google to release new devices with an updated OS, The Christian Post notes.

The leaked screenshot suggests the Nexus 5 display resolution to be 1920 x 1080 pixels, with screen resolution expected to be 443 pixels per inch (ppi). It also shows the Nexus 5 supports the wireless charging feature and mentions Qualcomm sensors, The Christian Post reports.

As for the price, the Nexus 5 is expected to be sold at $385 for the 8 GB model and $465 for the 16 GB model.

The Android 4.4 Kit Kat update will replace the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, which arrived alongside the Nexus 7 in July.

Previously, the rumored specs for the Nexus 5 include a Full HD screen display with either 5.0-inches or 5.2-inches, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor at 2.3GHz and 3GB of RAM. The device is also rumored to have a camera made by Nikon.
