Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman may be best known as Sherlock and Watson in "Sherlock," but they will also be seen together (sort of) in "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug."

As seen in the latest trailer for "The Desolation of Smaug," Martin Freeman is front and center as the dwarves attempt to retake Erebor from the dragon Smaug.

But Benedict Cumberbatch is also in the trailer, at least his voice is. In the closing moments of the trailer, fans can hear Cumberbatch as Smaug the dragon, attempting to lure Martin Freeman into his open flames.

"Come now, don't be shy. Step into the light," purrs Cumberbatch as Martin Freeman attempts to escape the monstrous Smaug.

With "Sherlock" season 3 still going through post-production and awaiting an air date, no doubt seeing (and hearing) Martin Freeman and Benedict Cumberbatch together will be a relief to some.

With post-production expected to continue until well into November, it is light Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman won't be seen on "Sherlock" until the holidays, or perhaps even next year.
