Last August, Amanda Bynes was admitted to UCLA Medical Center because her mom who had a temporary conservator thought it had the 'best mental treatment facility' in the U.S. The 27-year old actress being treated for schizophrenia, a severe mental disorder. This was not the first time that the troubled actress transferred facilities.

A week ago, the Easy A actress was supposed to undergo trial for DUI driving back and arrest in April 2012, but her lawyer submitted an appeal to the judge, raising doubts about her mental capacity to understand the proceedings of the, E! reported. Her attorney Richard Hutton told E!, 'The mental health court will examine Bynes and determine her competency to stand trial.' Furthermore, the judge would then refer her case to the mental health court, says Hutton.

 Until recently, Amanda Bynes have been receiving treatment from the Psychiatric Wing of the UCLA Medical Center. TMZ and E! reports that she has been transferred to a different facility, a move recommended by her doctors at UCLA. Through her parent's lawyer Tamar Arminak, Ricky and Lynne releases statement that Amanda is 'receiving specialized treatment in a private facility outside of Los Angeles' and that she is 'is making great strides toward recovery'. Her lawyer concludes, 'The entire Bynes family would like to ask that they be given some measure of privacy so they can focus on Amanda's health and well-being,' and that 'The Bynes family would also like to thank all of Amanda's supporters and well-wishers for their thoughts and prayers during this difficult time'.

Meanwhile, TMZ reports that her parents have confirmed that she is transferred from UCLA Medical Center to The Canyon in Malibu, which is a much more luxurious treatment center for famous celebrities. According to a report by TMZ, sources tell that Amanda has been admitted for 3 weeks now. Furthermore, the only shocking thing is that while the treatment center specialized treatment for addictions, their mental facility is not the same as the UCLA Medical Center for serious mental sickness.

E! also reports that her parents have relinquished their petition for permanent conservatorship, following an LPS conservatorship which I more restrictive. TMZ sources say, that although Amanda has been staying at The Canyon for about 3 weeks now, she barely interacts with many people and has hardly left her living area.
