Google and AT&T recently released the official Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update for Samsung Galaxy Note 2, with model number SGH-I317, available via Over-The-Air or OTA. To check if it is already available, users of AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note 2 can go to Settings>Software Update.

However, as the post on Android.gs states, the OTA update for the official Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update will not change the firmware version of the build number since "it only brings updates for the already smartphone installed applications."

After completing the installation process of the official Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update, users of AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note 2 will still see JZO54K as the default build number of the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean firmware.

Accordingly, the official Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update provides new features, as well as tweaks that will bring a more stable operating system.

The official Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update for the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 locked on AT&T is 165MB heavy, which generally contains pre-loaded application updates, alongside stability tweaks.

In case you did not received the OTA notification that the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update is already available, you can simply access Software Update and from there, click on the download and update button. Just wait until the new files for the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean firmware are installed.

When downloading the official Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update for the AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note 2, make sure that your device is connected to a reliable Wifi network to make sure the process will go smoothly.

Meanwhile, AT&T is not yet making any official word regarding the release of Android 4.2 or Android 4.3 update for the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 but it is expected that new software update will be available at the end of 2013.
