SM Entertainment Denies EXO's November Comeback Is A Done Deal

Fans of the 12-member K-pop boy band EXO were worked into a frenzy of excitement on Tuesday, when reports began circulating in the South Korean media that the group would be releasing a new album in November.

The news came as a surprise to everyone, including the executives at EXO's record label SM Entertainment.

Wednesday, a spokesperson for the label said that discussion regarding the new EXO release is still in the early planning stages, according to the website allkpop.

"It hasn't been decided yet," the rep said. "EXO's comeback time period is still not confirmed."

Many fans of the group, although eager for another release, felt it would be wise for SM Entertainment to push the release to give the band some much-needed time off.

"Although I'm looking forward to another comeback from EXO, I feel that the members need to rest," wrote fan skb97 in allkpop's comments section.

"Won't they be exhausted from the continuous activities they had?"

But whenever that comeback happens to be, EXO singer Suho claims that the group, which is comprised of band subunits Exo-K and Exo-M, will be better than ever.

"The next time we make our comeback, we will give a better performance," the singer told the Malaysian newspaper the New Straits Times, earlier this week.

Suho admits that the chart-topping success that EXO has earned, their first full-length album "XOXO (Kiss & Hug)" has sold over 700,000 copies since it's release in June, has taken the group by surprise.

"The fact that EXO is able to sell the album at such a speed makes us both very happy and surprised," he said.

"We are very thankful for the love, adoration and good sales that we get from Korea, China and other parts of the world."

And the group does plan to celebrate their international success, as soon as they get a minute.

"We are working on [celebrating the success of 'XOXO (Kiss & Hug)'] soon," said EXO band member Baekhyun.

But it wasn't always an easy task to get a dozen guys on the same page, the band's sole Canadian member, Kris, explained.

"Because there are so many of us, it's harder to get organized at the beginning," Kris said. "It took more time to make everything right and perfect for stage performance."

A problem that could have been exasperated by the fact EXO has members from three different countries, South Korea, China and Canada.

Yet EXO singer Chanyeol believes the group's diversity is their number one strength.

"By singing in Korean and Chinese languages, we can conquer an even bigger market at the same time, not only in South Korea, like most groups do," he said.

"That's our biggest advantage."
