A Party of Music with LUNAFLY: Acoustic Trio Celebrates 1-Year Anniversary in Malaysia

Once upon a time, in a faraway 'Lukie Kingdom', there live three young princes who ruled the kingdom. They were no ordinary princes as all three were gifted with 'magical' music abilities. All three sparkled like the 'stardust' in the sky and the citizens of the kingdom hailed them as the 'superheroes'. On their anniversary, putting away the magical horse carriage, they 'fly to love' (in order to meet their citizens) upon gracing the celebration held in one of the kingdom's territory.

How nice would it be if such fairytale exists in reality right? Well, not all fairytales were just a mere story to tell. This three-membered acoustic band, made up of leader Sam Carter, percussionist Teo and guitarist Yun may not be real life princes who ruled a kingdom but they are and will always be the 'princes' among LUKIEs (Lunafly fans). Therefore, in conjunction with their debut anniversary on 27 September 2013, they held a special celebration named 365 with Lunafly- One Year Anniversary Party last weekend, an intimate live show with not just full with quality music but most importantly a ' private party' with their fans.

The atmosphere in the hall proved that they were ready to party as fans start to cheer for Lunafly's name as the band members walked up to the centre stage. Opening their show with You Got That Something I Need, the band showcased a more mature performance in comparison with their debut showcase in Kuala Lumpur last March. Next on their song lists was Superhero. This song was somewhat special being their debut song, thus as a token of appreciation for producing a good and inspiring music, the fans prepared a special gift for them by holding a hand banner written on it 'Thank you Lunafly for the music' whilst the band sang the song.

After an overwhelming introduction performance, the band greeted the audience and they confessed that they do missed the fans especially after an unexpected and explosives welcome during their first visit in March. When the mood maker Teo started to mention couple of Malay words and slangs which he had learnt back in March such as Saya Kacak lah (I'm handsome), Saya Comel lah (I'm cute), Hebatnya (So Awesome), the crowds were getting more louder. Witnessing the warm interaction between the band members and the fans truly gave a sense of friendship between both artists and fans. The band continued the 'party' with their amazing acoustic guitar harmonization while singing to One More Step, Clear Day, and Cloudy Day.

Surprise! Surprise! If back in March, they released 2 new songs in Kuala Lumpur i.e Fly to Love and Innocent & Young, to the fans surprise, the band does it again! They performed their new composition ballad song entitled Can't Stop the Rain. The song was composed a month ago and to honor Malaysian fans, they performed this song LIVE for the first time for this special gathering. The melody was beautiful yet melancholic. While the band members performing to every bait of the lyrics, some of the audience couldn't hold their tears, as it was such a heart-wrenching ballad. The surprise did not just stop there. Being the multiracial country, Lunafly acknowledged this fact and they have performed Malay songs, Cantik and Bila Terasa Rindu during their first visit last March. Therefore, to honor the other race in Malaysia and in the spirit of togetherness, this time, they presented a Mandarin song made popular by Harlem Yu called Qing Fei De Yi, which is the original soundtrack for the hot drama, Meteor Garden. As the music started, the fans started to sing along with them too, much to Lunafly's surprise.

The party continued with not just them performing their own composition hit tracks, they also melodiously sang to other various hit songs together with new arrangements and acoustic rendition of My Love, When I Was Your Man, With You, As Long As You Love Me and Mirrors.

'Flying high in the sky...oh with the beautiful stars...' and this whole showcase truly brought the feeling of being in a magical world, being serenaded with the melody from the band. As they performed to their latest single Stardust, the hall suddenly turned into bright yellow just like the sparkling stars at night, as the fans light up their yellow glowstick to create a heavenly romantic mood, strolling at night while being showered by the shimmering stars. They also performed their summer released Yeowooya before wrapping up the party with What's Your Name, Innocent & Young and Fly to Love.

365 with Lunafly was not just a showcase of music but in the name of the band, the fans has raised funds and made a donation to Hospital Beyond Boundaries project to commemorate Lunafly debut anniversary.

Eventhough it's been only a year since Lunafly's debuted, they seemed to be ready to conquer the music industry and brought a new flavor to the current music scene. Wishing them all the best and Congratulations once again for their debut anniversary.

365 with Lunafly-One Year Anniversary Party was organized by M.E Malaysia on 12 October 2013 at Taylors University College, Lakeside Campus.
