'SNL Korea' and US 'Saturday Night Live' Planning to Swap Casts in 40th Anniversary Special

A rep from tvN's SNL Korea revealed on October 18 that they are planning a special sketch together with the US original show Saturday Night Live.

The official stated, "Recently, American broadcaster NBC, which airs SNL, has proposed a special event in conjunction with Korea's SNL Korea for their 40th anniversary special."

The sketch will reportedly surround the idea that the casts will be swapped between the two programs.

"The production crews of SNL and SNL Korea are planning the 40th anniversary special together," explained the SNL Korea official. "The hosts will be shared. We are keeping in mind the need for 'world stars' who can me recognized by both Korean and American audiences."

The episode is set to air next September, so the details are far from being worked out, but the foundation has been laid.

"There is still a lot of time left so we haven't started casting the hosts yet," continued to the Korean show's rep. "If the plan goes through for the cast swap, on the Korean side, Shin Dong Yup and the fixed members will head to America, while on the American side, Fred Armisen and other popular cast members will visit Korea."

What do you think of this exciting possibility? Which cast members of SNL and SNL Korea would you like to see trade places?
